The old man and the sea...

I Introduction/General Information about the Book:
Title: The Old man and the Sea
Author:  Ernest Hemingway
Type of book: Fiction
II Characters:
Main character: The Old man/Santiago
This character is very old and weak but he still fishes. This character's problem comes when there were only few fishes that come by. I can identify with the character when he either thinks about fishing or when he thinks about the boy. He also wanted the boy to there when he went fishing.
The Young boy- this boy is very cheerful and is there with the old man.
Martin, the owner- this man is very kind to give some quality food to the poor. He gave The Old man and the boy some fried bananas and many more food.
III Setting:
The place of the story is somewhere in the Central American location, I can say this due to this phrase "I can always come in on the glow from Havana."
The time of the story is somewhere in the old school days due to the still in baseball, now the in is basketball.
The setting just is hard to find anyways its in the sea. It makes the story fascinating.
IV Plot:
The event started when the boy wanted to go with the Old man but he said to stay with his parents who has lucky boats.
Then
The 2 talked about baseball and their manager.
Then
the 2 went to prepare for the old man's fishing.
Then
The old man slept and dreamed about the feeling of being in Africa.
Then
The Old man left to go fishing.
Then
The boy still cared for the old man when he has made his arrival.
V Theme:
In this story I have learned that it needs faith and perseverance to succeed. The old man work very hard and all hardship has a problem if passed has something great.
The Old man had little water left, while in the trip of fishing, and decided to search for one when he found one in his boat.
VI Evaluation:
The book has many adventure but the old man is just in the sea and in most pages his the only one. So, it's kinda like boring.

  1. The time of the story is somewhere in the old school days due to the still in baseball, now the in is basketball. (rephrase)

    - you did not follow my format and chose only parts to answer. i can say that there were important parts in the story that you did not mention. did you really read the book?

    - if it was boring for you, you could have chosen another book.
