Book Report II

I. Introduction/ General Information of the book:
To Kill a Mocking Bird
Harper Lee
Non-Fiction

II.Characters:
Scout Finch
Scout is a kid who is someone who is supportive to her father because when there were kids who said her father was a "NIGGER" Lover she was just so protective at her father's actions, and because of this I can say that she's a family girls and that she loves her family so much. Some of her conflicts was when Bob Ewell decided to attack the 2 of them, Scout and Jem. The solution to that problem was great timing as they were saved by Boo, a mysterious man in their neighborhood. Another problem was when children from them kept on teasing her. the solution was just courage.

I can relate with Scout whenever she decides to be a strong and courageous girl for her family.

Supports:
Jem Finch
Her younger brother who broke his arm while playing football.

Atticus Fich
Scout's father who has decided to help a black person. He was a target of Bob Ewell when Ewell was humiliated by the case where Tom Robinson raped his daughter.

Bob Ewell
The father of the victim of whom Tom Robinson raped. He vowed revenge to Atticus because his pride was hurt, even though their family won the case.

III Setting
The Place is in Maycomb,Alabama, a not so nice place to say a black guy raped my white girl. I can say this because some kids would call Scout and Jem's father as a Nigger Lover, they even used the "N" word. The place would be good if the protagonist would be black. It would make his conflict even greater and better since he would have many adventures.

The time is when it was at its poor state, the people had to be very busy. Luckily the protagonist's father was a Lawyer so the money would be easy. The time would make a great action story because its a time where people would search money in anyway, even do some illegal things. The time would make a lot of actions and also a lot of drama.

IV Plot:
Jem Finch's arm got broke after playing some good old football. After that incident, they have been taught over about the incident but he got it broken again after a conflict.

Early one morning, the kids were supposed to do their daily routine where first was playing in their back yard. When suddenly, they heard something next door on their neighbor's collard patch. they checked it and saw a man sitting their and looking at them.

The kids saw a twine one time and when the third time they saw it at the same place they just kept it for themselves and made a finders keepers losers weepers rule for themselves.

Their aunt Alexandra ignored Scout's question and made Scout just think about their bad memories like times when they made a conflict.

Dill visited them again and when it was night already men were standing outside their home and was searching for Scout's father. Conflict might happen.

While returning from their party, Jem and Scout felt someone at their back and felt a strong sense of danger. While they were running Scout fell to the ground and Jem rolled to her. They suddenly felt someone carrying them and were running while carrying them.

V.Theme:
When you try to help someone be careful you might just be in danger. That is something what I have learned from the book and it might also be what the author wants me to tell, unless this is a parable or something. I saw this because whenever they tried to help something bad happened like when Atticus helped Tom he got himself in trouble of Ewell and when Boo decided to save the 2 kids from Ewell he knew that they would be followed.
When Boo was running from Ewell the only solution he could think of is going to go home or go to the kids' home and stay with Atticus. He did that solution and from their Ewell died from self stabbing or he fell from his knife. Good thing Boo went home immediately.

VI. Evaluation:
I like the stupid reason of Ewell for killing, revenge for humiliation. I like the book because of many stupidities I can see like how Ewell died, the what you see what you get of Jem and Scout and also Ewell reason for killing. I also think that the book would be funny. Anyways a nice book it is.

  1. - Your summary didnt give highlights of the story
    - You didnt justify the solution that you have given about the problem of the story.
    - be conscious with grammar rules especially, subject verb agreement and tenses.
    - Seems that you misunderstood some of the details, especially when you said "the place would be good if the protagonist would be black." Are you sure about that?
